Description
The CS30 Saw is a Geological Trim Saw, for initial trimming of bulk specimens and thinning of two 28x48mm slide-mounted specimens.
The CS30 Trim Saw is a robust saw specifically evolved for thin section preparation. The standard saw is fitted with a 200mm diameter diamond blade which is suitable for cutting a wide variety of materials. Designed for versatility, the saw is capable of carrying out the two cutting operations most frequently encountered in the preparation of standard thin sections.
For initial trimming of bulk specimens to make them suitable for first face lapping, the saw includes a convenient sliding clamp fixture. The CS30 Trim Saw also thins slide-mounted specimens down to 500 microns, ready for second face lapping. A ceramic vacuum chuck (which keeps slide distortion to a minimum) holds two slides 28x 48mm/26x46mm while the blade cuts through the material.
