- Compact
- Easy to clean
- Impregnate several specimens together
- Simple to operate
Description
The Epovac vacuum impregnation unit is ideal for impregnating porous specimens to make subsequent processing possible. The simplicity of its design and construction makes it both reliable and straightforward to operate.
Having evacuated the specimen chamber, the impregnating fluid is then introduced into the chamber under atmospheric pressure by means of a disposable plastic tube.
To direct the resin to the mould(s) containing the specimens, the ball joint where the delivery tube enters the chamber can be manipulated by hand.
The polypropylene base of the chamber means that any drips or spilled resin will not stick, making cleaning and maintenance easier.
Applications
The Epovac vacuum impregnation unit is required in the Compact 50 Thin Section Preparation System where the materials being processed are soft, porous or friable. Typical examples of materials that are impregnated on the Epovac are:
- Sandstones
- Soils
- Agglomerates
- Concretes
Product Options
The Epovac is available as a complete system which includes a vacuum pump and related consumables or as a single item without the vacuum pump.
